I’m Melinda Hamilton.

Let me help you make your book better.

Whatever state your book is in, I’m here to help. I believe writing a book is like creating pottery: the first draft is the process of creating the clay, and all the subsequent versions are shaping the clay into a beautiful piece of pottery. Whatever you need for your book to reach the next level—developmental edit, line edit, copy edit, or proofread—I’m here to help you polish your story and your storytelling without losing your voice.

My process begins with a consultation and a sample edit. Based on the sample edit, I will develop a quote for your work. Rest assured that anything I send you will be completely edited by me personally—I don’t use any software or AI in my editing. You can email me or use the contact form. I look forward hearing from you, and happy writing!

Melinda approaches each manuscript with genuine care and passion, treating every project as if it’s her own. Her insights and edits have consistently improved my work, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. ~Ellie Alexander, Cozy Mystery

Completing the first draft of my debut novel was a huge win, but I was stuck moving forward.  Melinda kept me motivated while delivering important feedback, and practical tools that allowed me to tighten my next draft.  She made herself available for multiple sessions and was flexible in accommodating changes in our arrangement.  I look forward to working with Melinda again, and intend to engage her services even earlier on my next book.”

I wholeheartedly recommend Melinda as an editor. She did a thorough job on a developmental edit for my inaugural cozy mystery. Melinda followed through on her promised services even ahead of schedule, and provided terrific insight to improve my mystery. She is also so easy to talk to and is great at answering all of my questions. I love working with Melinda and plan to continue to do so!”
