Proofreading
Proofreading, the last step before publication, is meant to catch any errors that survived (or were accidentally introduced during) the previous rounds of edits. Such errors mostly consist of typos, misspellings and punctuation errors, but may include formatting, chapter heading and page numbers depending on the format being proofread.
Interested? Contact me to set up a consultation and a sample edit, which is done free of charge and includes the first five pages of the manuscript and five pages from the back half of the manuscript. Based on the sample edit, I will develop a quote for your work.
What a proofread includes:
- A close reading of the manuscript, looking for any and all small errors
- In-line corrections on the electronic document itself, via track changes;
- Any follow up email correspondence
